software

Open-source research software and interactive astronomy tools by Tianqi Cang.

I build open tools for spectropolarimetry, magnetic-field inference, and astronomical data exploration. The projects below support my research and are designed to be useful beyond a single analysis.

Flagship project · Python

pyZeeTom

A Python framework for forward modelling and maximum-entropy inversion of full-Stokes polarization spectra. It supports rotating objects, circumstellar structures, flexible line models, and time-dependent tomography.

  • Stokes I, Q, U, V
  • MEM inversion
  • Differential rotation
  • Extensible line models

SpectraViewer

A browser-based tool for inspecting intensity and polarization spectra from PolarBase, designed for quick visual exploration before detailed analysis.

  • Polarized spectra
  • Interactive inspection
  • PolarBase workflow
