Jan 16, 2026 We achieved the first measurement of chromospheric magnetic fields in stars beyond the Sun, using high-resolution polarization spectroscopy data collected over a decade. This breakthrough reveals the complex magnetic field structure in stellar upper atmospheres and provides crucial observational evidence for understanding stellar eruptive activities and their impact on exoplanetary environments. The research was published in the international journal Nature Communications. Article link: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-025-66624-9. Oct 18, 2025 Using radio observations of FAST, we detected a new millisecond-scale radio burst on the M-type star AD Leo! The signal originates from small-scale magnetic fields in the stellar spotted regions. The relevant work was recently published in Science Advances. A related news can be see here (in Chinese).
